Everland and Sheep Cafes

If going to Everland and a sheep cafe doesn’t sound like the most magical weekend ever to you, you’ve got a hole where your heart should be. Everland was pretty empty compared to how it was during Children’s Day weekend (high five, MERS!), we ate magical tacos at Gusto Taco, awesome burgers at Burger B, and Thanks Nature Cafe (sheep cafe) was a good combo of delicious drinks and adorable sheep. Good weekend. 10/10. Would do it again.

Up first: Everland!
To get to Everland, we hopped on bus no. 5002 from Gangnam. To find the stop, come out of exit 10 (Gangnam), walk for two blocks, and look for Paris Coissant on your left. Since this is Korea and shops change location daily, it’s probably best if you look at the map:

Everland:

I think we’d all agree that eating before heading to Everland is a good idea. Food is pretty cheap by amusement park standards, but it’s still amusement park food. You’ve always got the option of eating while you wait on the shuttle to Everland. Just watch out for the line attendant. He’ll make you feel like a jerk if you don’t share your sandwich with your friends… or if you’re leaning up against a sign.

Up next: Food/Entertainment:
If you’re ever in Seoul and you’re looking for amazing food, please go to Gusto Taco and Burger B. You won’t be disappointed. Gusto Taco has the best pork tacos I’ve ever had, and Burger B has a great selection of burgers and other dishes. Both are perfect for when your inner fat westerner wants something greasy. Mine screams for Mexican food and margaritas. I left Seoul satisfied.

Thanks Nature Cafe (aka the sheep cafe) is a must. We met Milky and Lily, both of whom are pretty sassy sheep who only care about you if you have feed in your hand. Regardless of attitude problems, I absolutely loved it. How many times can you say you’ve sipped a latte and had your fingers nibbled at by a sheep? Probably none. Go to Thanks Nature Cafe.

Another cool place to visit while you’re in the area is Club FF. My friends knew about it already, but it was my first time. A Korean pop/rock/rockabilly(?) band was playing. My heart was full.

The most important part of the trip, Milky and Lily:

Getting there:
We took a bus from the Busan (Nopo station) early Saturday and arrived in Seoul later that afternoon. We took the budget bus for around 20,000 Won (~$20), but you could opt for the pricier bus that’s around 30,000 for more leg room and huge reclining chairs. The budget bus comes complete with seat belts, AC, and the excitement of knowing that if you nod off, you might headbutt your neighbor.
We went with the more expensive option on our trip back, and I’d definitely recommend spending the extra 10,000. They even play Korean reality shows on the TV up front!
Fun fact: there are no language barriers with reality TV.

Staying there:
We stayed at Dustin Guesthouse in Hongdae, which is in the middle of pretty much everything. There are tons of restaurants, clubs, shops, and sights to keep your attention. It’s really affordable and pretty clean. There’s also a Taco Bell right around the corner. You’re welcome.

You definitely should! It was one of the best weekends I’ve had in Seoul. 🙂
